EQOA and other mmorpg’s are just an escape meant for people to forget their real life struggles. It’s sort of like alcohol, without the hangover. But you do gain just as much weight from Mountain Dew Red and Doritos.
I remember when EQOA players would have in-game memorials in the forms of funerals or weddings. This was always ridiculous to me. Even the act of giving a ring to another player as some sort of commitment was ludicrous.
Where am I going with this? Well, this video is old and not EQOA, but sums up my feelings when I see the real world and the game world get too intertwined:
All in all, it’s just a game. If you don’t enjoy it, stop playing it.
