I couldn’t sleep last night so I got up around 5 am and decided to rehab my alc. Only have 600ish cms, I basically have all of them planned out up to 1500. Redoing that whole thing made me really excited to xp my alc again and finally get my tag. Can’t wait until everyone gets their toons leveled so I can group my alc. Lol
Good call man! Alc’s are beasts. You going to level your warrior and necro simultaneously with our lower toons?

I was thinking we should do some low level ST kills while we can. There’s a few in Sunnyvale, a couple at fp crocs. I wanna save up 400 so I can get the lv 60 ST ability.
I’m coming back guys I will roll a new toon or get on one of my 3 60′s on CLW for help for now. I am in the process of buying a new ps2 slim console and everything I need to get my EQOA back on. I miss it pure and simple and no MMO out there now gives me the nostalgic feeling of getting back on EQOA. I will let you guys know as soon as I get everything back up and running won’t be long.

Along with batteries, we could use a porter. Druid or Wizzy, don’t think it matters. Maybe another healer. At the moment we have Kersed as our only actual healer I think. Then there’s my nec as a patch. So anyone looking to either come back or to start a new toon, those are things to think about.
Raid wise or grouping? Im going to return with a tribox setup this summer sk as my puller and 2 necs. Lemme know if you guys are going to start raiding soon so i can build them for that.
At the moment, we have one 60 alc in guild and 1 52 monk. The majority of toons in guild are 30s and some late 20s, and then my 40 nec. As far as raiding, it shouldn’t take too long to get people to 50ish and start doing IoD. As far as I have heard in guild, plans are to try to hit up as much content as possible. Hopefully we’ll be going strong this summer.

Sounds good i will do my best to bring a few peeps back with me. As we all know its hard to find dedicated people willing to play and pay for an MMo on the Ps2 lol. Yeah im anxious to start now but i think its best to wait until the summer arrives.This will be my last semester anyways.. let me know if you need anything besides Those 2 stackers i could always change that Sk out for a bard. I will be back with 1 box for sure I have a 48 hum pow path bard I wouldnt mind finishing and a 60 eru barr path guardian if you guys need back up tanks. Would you say its worth it to tribox this late in the game?
It’d be tough man, and expensive. I would suggest dual boxing first and then finding out if it’s worth it.
Thanks for the heads up, any Idea if you can use either of those 2 Chars bard or guardian? Id really like to be helpful I know you guys arent at the numbers you need to raid just yet. I just wanted a heads up so when i start up i can get right to making my raid Chars.
Out of all the classes available, those 2 would be very helpful. Plan your return some time after this month. We’ve had a slow down in leveling due to readers in college.

Hey guys, It’s saelronx for the past two weeks I been in a psychiatric hospital getting the help I needed and detoxing on alcohol. Basically what I was diagnosed with was “bi-polar” and described in the notes as a “violent, out of control person” “loose cannon” and a “sociopathic criminal”. I was even on the list for the state facility until they realized I had actually changed, decided to stay clean and do something with my life. At first I was considered delusional until I showed them proof I graduated top 15% of the high school class slacking and was capable of getting straight A’s through college.
I got out Saturday but was hesitant on posting because I didn’t know if this would push me back towards my old life or take over my life. Sacrificing grades through college, which I can not do. Basically I got to get a job pay off my 2,000 dollars in court fines then pay for license reimbursement, go to college, get my associates then transfer to get my bachelor’s. Alot to do but I’m only 21 and got my whole life ahead of me. By the way I still don’t know if this is the right thing to do.
Regardless it seems when Wreckazine went from 51-60 in a few days and Stonee from 45-49 in two days that you all resorted to pulling trees rather than grinding. I do not blame you all for not waiting but because of that the desire I had to play is no longer there. Have fun I will still post from time to time but as I said I just don’t have the passion for EQOA I once did.
P.S. I may sell the 2 accounts/PS2/Wireless controller/Memory card/EQOA:Fronts disk/Pre-Fronts disk if the offer for everything is right, I will not split them up.
Hey man, rough stuff. Best of luck getting through that. I’m not sure what pulling trees is but none of that here… We got in a solid group with a pally and cleric that could mass pull at white-DB camps. Did use boon most of the way though. People phased out after the first week. It’s pretty much just Wreck and I but it’s still fun. I’d say I get in about 5-10 hours a week, mostly on weekend mornings. Get the important things together and we’ll always have a place for ya!
Hey, man I hope things go well for you and you can do everything you have planned. It all sounds like a good idea.
As for leveling, haven’t been to trees, but I’ve been steadily in groups at TFGs, froglocks, kappa warriors, even dshinns. And not quite 60 yet, but I could get it tonight if I find the right group. If you do play at all, I have a few other lower level toons. But with all you want to accomplish, playing EQOA probably isn’t the best idea.

Commenting on what Wreck was saying about not having the passion anymore to play. I said that a few times atleast in my day and stopped playing Frontiers. I end up playing something else, most recently, DC Universe Online for a few weeks. Basically, NOTHING is the same. I played Everquest 2 and got a character all the way to 90 and PVP geared and it wasn’t anywere close to as fun as EQOA.
I agree with him it’s not what it once was but what it once was, was reallly amazing. It’s still an amazing game and Zatozia is still saying updates are coming and as well made a game update note just a day or two ago. This is showing some kind of a sign that more is to be expected soon with the recent updates that haven’t happened in years. I will be on one of my 60′s soon to help others, cm and maybe even start a new toon and lvl him up quick and everything.
This game is like nothing I have ever played in console gaming.
It’s definitely not what it was but at the same time, it’s almost like a completely new game. I took over 4.5 years off and I went into this not expecting to run into old friends. The game is very much still alive and has a lot to offer all players. Every time I log on, I learn about a new camp or quests that I had never heard of. With that said, I’m feeling less bitter toward SOE each day.
If you played the whole time for the last few years the content additions don’t seem like a whole lot, but I can see where if you haven’t played for years I can see it being a lot to take in. I’ve barely played for the last couple years so there’s still some things, especially the Khal stuff that I’m not familiar with. When I quit the last time it was shortly after the Khalimet raid was was put in. I’m not even sure if that’s still there. I know for awhile it was the only way to get ZP spells, it may still be.
I’m definitely having a good time playing though. 44 cms til I get Lich.

I have my old account information so I am pretty much all set now. I will be back on and post when I log back in as soon as I can so I can play with you all again. I just wanna get back in the game

What would you say the top 3 best classes to solo with are?
1. Alchemist
2. SK
3. Tie between necro, monk, ranger, enchanter, and maybe mage. Basically these classes, if built in certain ways, can deal enough damage and heal enough to take down almost any xp mob by themselves. But if you just want raw soloing, the HP Max and the dmg output of an alc is unreal. SK’s do dmg and heal at the same time… so that’s a huge plus when you consider they have high AC and HP max.
Alright. I want to make some that can solo for when I do come back, but couldn’t remember what’s best for soloing. Thanks!
If you do a melee class I would recommend doing the captain scilond qsts and take the klick reward. I forget the real name of it but people call them klick sticks. The lv 41 klick stick procs for about 600 and the 51 procs for about 900, with a dex mod I believe. You can do the quest tiwce and get both and equip at the same time. Id ont have them but a ranger buddy of mine was telling me about them and he had them. We used to kill stuff crazy fast with just his ranger and my nec. I think they are all melee equipable and warrior as well. Not sure about other tanks, but as other tanks don’t have quad or dual wield it wouldn’t work for them as well.

Yeah, there are “[city] announcers”which are just obelisks in starting cities. They look like road signs… just talk to them and pay 1k.
Oh ok, so it hasn’t changed nice and that’s for boon which is double xp or?
4x XP. Throughout the leveling process you’ll still find a full group more often than not but you’re going to have to be the one to instigate the invites. Some people are just to shallow to do so, so they sit on reg while you pull a whole group together. Also back to the point I was trying to make when I first started this post: You grind with that full group and have 45-46 take 2 hours of grinding then put your head about the fact that it took 8 hours of grinding before boon.

1 Bard- Ranger most played
2 Rogues- Monks least played.

I would say for melee, I see rangers the most. I think I’ve seen more rogues than bards. Monks though I rarely see. I just made a monk a week or so ago, so far I really like it. Good damage and I can kinda heal myself. Good solo class so far.
Yeah I remember those days before boon and the luck and all that stuff. So Boon is around still and it’s 4x xp. Very nice. I will get back on soon as I get my system and everything and bounce around my toons I got on it at first. I might make new alt once people I’ll play with and are on steadily will want to as well. I have a 60 ranger, 60 assassin, and 60 spellbinder at the moment when I log back on. I might want to roll a tank or battery.

Ya’ll might catch up to my SK, even though doubtful, Stonee definitely has a way of leveling quick =P. He(my SK) is currently 47 and so far I’ve put in about 6 applications been going for follow-ups on them. Introducing myself and conversing to/with the managers and still don’t no body want to hire me. So it might be a while before I’m back. Ya’ll wait before you do that 57 Ario’s! The tank helm is better uber.

I can’t imagine playing with that thing and my hands are relatively big. Not just the size but the fact you’re going to be holding up approximately 2.2 pounds for long periods. Interesting fact is my Gamestop was sold out of Frontiers for the first 2 weeks off nothing but pre-orders. Only met one of the many people who happened to live around the area and his uncle happened to own the paintball “course” I use the quotation marks because it’s inside. But yeah I remember they had a whole kiosk for nothing but EQOA.
It’s a pretty big keyboard for that small picture. You can take the keyboard off that thing it’s on and just use that to type with as well. I will probably try both ways and end up just using it via USB to type to people. You all know how annoying it is to type with the regular controller.
I thought about checking into one of those controllers back in the day. Seems pretty handy having both the controller and kb oin one unit. I also looked at the controllers with micro kb in the center, but I was never willing to spend the cash as long as my controller and kb still worked.
It only cost me 15$ actually off Ebay hah, I think I got a pretty good deal on it lol

I’m on either Arathorne or Lilarath at the moment. I am awaiting my new netplay controller pad as well.
Wish I had read this sooner, I was on from 5:30 to 8 doing nothing lol so I started my bard. Watching some tv then turning in early cuz I have to be at 5 am. I’ll send you a tell tomorrow to see if you are on.

Basically my plan as of now is I’m gonna run a month long test drive of EQOA: Frontiers like good old times since I haven’t played in like a year and a half to get me back into it. If I get sucked back in I will def continue playing and what not but if not I was thinking of some other side-projects if EQOA finally dies out for good. But for now, with my subscription paid and me back I will give it as much time as I can for now with class/work and a gf.
Anyone and everyone hit me up in-game whenever possible. I will be on Arathorne/Lilarath for now one of those 60s I have. But Ill will think about a new toon to make as well soon so we can lvl up fast and together which is always fun. Also it kind of sucks not having a keyboard waiting for that cool Netplay keyboard to come still.

Oh, I found a new lowbie guild on my monk as well. They are only inviting 40 and under to join. Seem to be a lot of people on in guild as well. I actually forgot the name of the guild lol I’ll get back to you on that. It may be a good place to start grinding and getting to know people on CLW.

Question, do I have to do the quests at the beginning I remember just kind of doing the pickclaws and stuff to level and what not at the beginning but will I have to do them eventually because of the epic and what not right? I just kind of want to level up a new toon, I made a monk named Araku. But I am not 100% if I’m going to play him yet let me know about when u guys making new toons or what’s goin on I’m on Arathorne send me over a tell or mail in-game whenever.
If you get boon, you can quest from 1-17 without stopping. I did pickclaws from 10-16 and am now going back and doing my 10, 13, 15 quests.
yeah I was just gonna hit like 20 doing pickclaws and what not then go back and do quests I guess huh.
I usually do noob qsts to get to 17, then run basic coaches and do 17s, then picks to at least 20 or until I’m finally able to get groups.
I think just getting to 20 with boon then doing the noob quests is fast and easy that way. We’ll see I’m on Lilarath if anyone is on message me, still no neyplay keyboard yet probably tommorow.
As far as I can remember Arathorne when we leveled up the DK’s we leveled to like 25 with picks then did Roots and Herbs. When we finally stopped with the HnG’s we had to go back and do all the quests to log the 20 class quest. So your better off just doing picks or those quests till 20 since you will have to do them anyway. I’m still debating on returning or not.. my WoW accounts just expired don’t know if I’m going to reactivate them or not.
What I did on one of my 60′s was just level him to 60 first lol. Then I went back and did all the quests at 60 lol. It’s easier to do all the path quests and everything then too. But I don’t know if I want to do that again. I know all the leveling spots for certain levels tho and everything. I might get to like 20 first and then make a decision. I’m still debating on making a monk or like a warrior or pally. Sarodare if you come back dude we can just level together and help each other out, which is really fun and cool dude, and there is a good amount of people still playing. I logged on Lilarath yesterday and Raam and Alvar were like already asking me to join their guilds lol.
I say come back for a month for a test drive, which is basically what I’m doing now, if it works out and I continue enjoying myself then I will stay longer and what not, if it really sucks still then go back to WoW dude. I am not a WoW player tho I would probably hgo back to EQ2, I have a 90 on there and a new expansion just came out for it with Vampires. But I really enjoy EQOA and Zatosia and other mods have been releasing quite a lot of game update notes recently and stuff which gives this game some hope!!
Yeah man I might, I don’t know if I have a PS2 that will play EQOA right now. I went for a job interview yesterday hoping I get the job so I can pay for my addictions. I might go back to EQ2.. I have a 60 something Ranger and other alts on Permafrost.
The Khal Viceroy is just a raid mob dude, or he used to be. The Khal Warlords drop nice rares in Permafrost. But you need someone to kite them or something.

He drops the gems which you can augment into the lvl 55 weapons. The Khal Warlords drop the weapons. The gems add very good stats, I have the green one on my bloodplague on my ranger, it has been awhile though for me so I don’t know all the stats and stuff anymore.
Stoney, we have to get together in-game, what toon are you on now? If you are gonna roll a new one soon let me know I have a great, fast way of leveling as well. I am gonna roll a monk I have decided, always loved them in EQOA. Send an in-game message to Arathorne, Lilarath or Charmarath one of my 60′s I’m on atm.

I’ve seen charmarath around, didn’t realize it was you or I woulda said something to you. My brd is level 10 at, need to run him to hp so I can do picks a little bit, but you’ll prolly catch up with my monk and warrior pretty quickly. Monk is almost 30 and warrior is 33.

You have to take it slow, its not the game it used to be. Its definately not about rushing to 60 and getting geared up either anymore. You will get burned out fast.
EQNext is where it’s at, I will wait for that, and not dwell on this great memory any more..

I had a 90 in EQ2X dude that I updated to gold version which I payed for monthly for a few months and it was real fun. I know most start-off cities too man. The bronze free EQ2X kind of sucks because you only get the best adept spells and no fabled or legendary gear. You can just use mastercrafted gear I guess though which isn’t too bad at all. If you pay 10$ extra I think you can upgrade to more bank slots and get expert spells. If you want to do that for a bit I’m game dude. I had a 90 Assassin I just sold like 3 weeks ago my old account. Do you have aim or something Saro? We can play together and stuff it goes faster that way.

EQ2 not worth it dude unless you’re atleast gold with some cash to spare because you need xp pots, and other shit to do anything in that boring ass game lol but it’s fun if u haven’t played it through though, so have at it, I’ll wait for EQNext.

I was thinking about writing an entry for you to post, or not lol just a bunch of stuff I’ve been thinking about.
No doubt Stonee but I sit down at the end of everyday because I’m usually worn out. It just so happens that yesterday was the first day that I sat down and didn’t even think to check anything EQoA related. I been going to these 2 hour long ASAP(alcohol safety awareness program) meetings for the past two weeks. They are rather boring.
Say I wanted to level a tank and a necromancer on CLW(not dboxing).. what are the odds I could play casually and level both on my own time while finding people around my level to do paths, XP a bit, do some random fun things? Like for example I don’t plan on rushing to 60 then coming back and doing ability quests etc, I’d like to do them when I hit the level. And obviously when I hit 60 I’d like to join a guild that would atleast aspire to raid. Any chance this is possible on CLW?
100% chance of that happening. Right now I have a 23 ranger that I haven’t put in a single group yet. There are probably 8-10 guilds on CLW that consistently raid and most of those are actively recruiting. Imagine CLW as just a step below how the game was in its prime.
You can easily get 20 in just a couple hours. Stonee and I made a couple toons together ther other day and got them to 17 and did all our qsts up to 15 at the same time. We are planning to use those as a permagroup, I’m sure we could get you caught up to them in no time if you wanna have a character permagrouped with us.

I’m on my 3rd month back now. It’s been fun but at the same time a bunch of people have returned and quit again. Sometimes I’ll play two times a week, other times I’ll play every day. I suggest you take it slow when you come back and don’t over play the game.

I didn’t think they were releasing that forPS3, but if they do I will definitely buy it the day it releases.
Man after all this crap with the severs being down is over we better get something awesome ingame like a 10x xp boon potion or something to make up for the one week vacation i had to level up my toons an now i cannot. This is such a bunch of BS, I gotta worry about the 7 different accounts i had through SoE and my CC numbers on them plus i get screwed over on my vacation week. Oh how irritated i am atm.

I didn’t play for about a week because I had a friend come into town and stay at my place, so I was kind of busy. I played a few hours one night after he left and then the next day they shut down the servers.

They shut the servers off when the whole Sony hack thing happened. Are you not playing anymore?

Ahh, too bad. There are lots of people playing cuz they gave out 45 free days to make up for the server shut down. All accounts, not just active accounts. I was on PPO last night for a couple minutes and there were actually like 20 people in FP.
Dang, then maybe I’ll log on.
Did not know we were taking this personally. I look and see my post in “I need..” deleted. Excellent people skills. It worked out for the best for what I assume is all of us. I joined a guild with at least a page on every night, got my 60 epic done and been farming Khal’s. Is what it is I guess, I quit anyway after seeing the seriousness involved in this game by some.
Vic, the “I need” section is for people who still need things. Thank you for using the section appropriately and I’m greatly satisfied to see that your needs were met. If you feel mistreated for some reason or another, I’ll be happy to repost your needs. Yet, seeing as you no longer play, I’ll assume that would be a wasted gesture. Sorry I haven’t been on lately. My PS3 died (again) and my PS2 controller is trashed (bad luck!) so I wasn’t able to get on for the last couple weeks of the free 45 days.

Hey accidentally stumbled upon this site and I was thinking about starting up again, I played for a few months and couldnt really find a steady player base but are all you guys in a guild on the same server or something cause I would’nt mind letting eqoa consume my life all over again?

Found used copies of eqoa frontiers for $0.99. I’m thinking they are in bad condition if its selling for that much. But ima give it a shot n see what happens.

So uhhh I’ve been looking around to see if this game still had any activity and so far this is one of the far few that ever talk about this game, I honestly forgot what server my barbarian warrior was on all I know is last time I got on I’d say about 2 years ago it was dead so I’m mainly wondering what server is the best 1 to start over on, Missed this game, brings back A LOT of memories. I used to skip school to play this game lol almost never made it to high school from EQOA lol. But yea if you guys could hook an old player up with some info on where to play I’d gladly join the cause in bringing this game back! Might even get my wife into it games easy enough heck.

Sounds good, It’s going to be about a week or 2 before I can actually get on and settle again, currently out processing out of Afghanistan. So as soon as I get a new PS2 again and find a Frontiers disk cheaper then 100$ lol saw that one on amazon then I’ll be back do a majority of people on this General Discussion run with the same guild?
Not too many… I’d say only about 10 people are active players on here and they usually have their own groups of friends. There’s a ton of people on CLW so just treat it like you remember the game.
